At this time, he was dividing his time between operating or repairing steam
englnes,finding occasional work in a Detroit factory, and overhaulinghis
father'sfarmimplements,as well as lending a reluctant hand with other farm

Henry married Clara Jane Bryant on April ll,1888.Clara was the daughteror a local farmer and shared Henry' s background and values. In prlVate,Henry called her "Callie." In public,he referred to her as "the Believer" for her unfailing faith in his abilities and her support of his ideas. |
